Hello from primary 5C!
We have had a great start to this new school year.
This term our topic is the Jacobites. We are learning about this historic rebellion and the impact that it has had upon Scottish history. Through this, we are comparing the life that Highlanders lived with present day society. The pupils have been enjoying creating their own tartan and learning about the different battles. We are writing diary entries pretending to be a Jacobite during the rebellion and writing letters to our families about our victories and losses.
With Scotland in mind, for expressive arts we are studying a famous Scottish artist, Joan Eardley. We are learning about her past and what inspired her to create her pieces. Through this we are recreating some of our own pieces and working on constructive feedback and how we can help others to improve their work.
In maths, we are learning about time, multiplication and division. We are learning how to read 24-hour digital time as well as how to read timetables. P.E. will remain on Wednesdays and Thursdays can pupils please ensure they have their gym kit on these days.
